Place it near the router, complete the setup, take the device back to the shed and insert it for online setup for laptop use. The BAM on mobile phones and laptops is full. Note: You do need the previous password set on the main router’s wifi to log in to Booster.

I don’t even know how this became a bestseller. If you want a good extender, it will actually bring you good speed, and it is not recommended to purchase. I didn’t expect full speed, but at least 30-50% is enough. But 5% is unreasonable and meaningless. Needless to say, I want to return the item.

The Netgear is functional, however it can’t reach one of the cameras on my rental.(br>To begin with, the Macard is an extension; it does not have five modes. No further mode setting instructions are provided. The setup guidelines weren’t successful. Nevertheless, configuration was completed by connecting the Macard to my Mac using an Ethernet wire.(br>At the distant camera site, I used a signal meter to measure the WAC104. It was modest yet functional. Afterwards, I took out the WAC104 and placed the Macard in the exact same spot in the workshop. The router signal was not picked up from my house (about 100 feet away). Okay, so I connected the Cat5e wire from my router to the Macard’s Ethernet port and it now recognizes the router. It was not what I had hoped for, but it was acceptable.(br>I’m now checking the far camera’s signal strength. Compared to the WAC104, the Macard signal level is lower! The specifications for the Macard are for 9000 square feet, whereas the WAC104 is for 1000 square feet. Since the Macard is a step backward, I took it off and returned it.(br>It seems that the Macard specifications are a little exaggerated.

After it matched our AT&T router, we relocated it to our separate studio and plugged it into an outlet approximately 100 feet away from the router. At that point, our Wi-Fi signal was strong. This extension has the wonderful feature of using the same password and adding the word plus to your existing router name.It wasn’t necessary to build a new network. Alexa, the iPad, and phones are all able to connect to the extended Wi-Fi signal and are all functioning as if they were right next to the house network. I was amazed when this extension succeeded in reaching that far into another building, even though I had my doubts. I was able to discontinue a satellite subscription that was costing me around $1200 a year for roughly $40 since this extension replaces our satellite dish at the studio. The extension will show to have been a wise decision if it keeps functioning as effectively as it now does.
