It fires weakening darts with considerable force, but not too much force. For people in this age group, it is actually a perfect power. I think the only unsatisfactory thing is the way you load the NERF gun. You must place the dart in front of the barrel, and then you must pull it back to the top rear like a handgun slider. If you don’t keep pulling it back, the dart will not shoot or use the current force to shoot from the gun, so you just need to pay attention and make sure to pull the armed slider back far enough. For adults, retreating is not difficult, but very young children may encounter some minor problems when charging and shooting guns. My 7-year-old son has no problems with it and loves it very much, so I would definitely recommend this set, especially if your child is just starting to use the NERF gun.
